Jewish Messiah in the Gospels, The

An examination of the career of Yeshua from his birth, youth, and immersion to his resurrection and ascension from the perspective of various first century Jewish personalities who witnessed the events. Rabbinic literature, Dead Sea Scrolls, and other first century Jewish writings are introduced where appropriate to define terms and concepts and to flesh out the other voices with whom Yeshua interacted. The purpose of this course is to plant the person and message of Yeshua firmly on Jewish soil and to learn to express our faith in Yeshua in Jewish terms and categories. Students will gain a new confidence in the Jewishness of the Gospels.
