Brief History of the Jewish Journey, A
$ 75.00
Rachel Rubin Wolf, Instructor
This course offers a survey of the major strands of Jewish history from the destruction of the second Temple to the present. You will not get a long list of forgettable names, dates, and places. The particulars will be woven into patterns of movement (geography), behavior (politics and sociology), and thought (philosophy and religion) that even the novice will benefit from. Emphasis will be placed on: the spread of the Jewish people throughout the world and the resulting influences that occurred; the nature of the changing relationship of the Jewish people with the surrounding gentile cultures (particularly the Christian Church); and the development of Jewish thought throughout the centuries.
